Training
underlies every success. It isn't enough to imagine something
done; the actual doing and how well it is done are the final and necessary
proofs of competence.
Especially
in the high-tech world, training provides the framework
upon which innovation can spring forth. When instructors
say, "On this, we are standing on the shoulders of
giants," they are not exaggerating.

There
is such a vast body of knowledge in every field, that just
sifting through it all could take a lifetime - especially
if we try doing it without electronic assistance. But the question
remains: what must we know?
The
expert trainer knows, from personal experience, which basic
skills must be mastered before the student can even think
about achieving excellence.
